Gary Markasky is the rock legend of Youngstown, Ohio.  He was the lead guitarist of the Michael Stanley Band during the 70’s and 80’s.  The band set an attendance record of 20,320 at the Richfield Coliseum in 1979.  The music video for their hit single, “He Can’t Love You,” was the 47th music video played on the first day of MTV back in 1981.

Markasky continues to rock the mid-west with his current band, The Gary Markasky Project.  If there was a person who embodied Rock ‘N Roll, it would be Markasky.  He lives its.  He breathes it.  It’s in his blood.  You can throw Markasky in front of 20,000 people armed with nothing but the six-string on his back and he’ll come out winning.

This interview was filmed in the Bob Wallace television studio at Edinboro University during the fall of 2011.
